Pre-Lab Reading: Ch. 14, Hutchinson & Sawyer.
Task 1 (Team Work).
Decide a topic on issues such as information policy, social questions, ethics, and privacy and security that your group would like to discuss indepth, and prepare a presentation outline using PowerPoint.
Task 2 (Individual Work). Each individual is required to
- prepare 2 powerpoint slides which are related to the topic your group has picked
- insert your name, Group # on the header of the slides
- create a note view for each of the slides
- print slides in HANDOUT format only (2 slides per page)
- convert the PPT file into HTML files
- Upload the files to your personal web site
Submission:
- 1-page printout that meets the requirement above.
- The URL where you post your slides by emailing it to ge@ist.psu.edu
Task 3 (Team Work). Compile every member's presentation and organize them into coherently to state your group's position on the social issues concerning information policy. It must meet the following requirements:
- There should be at least 8 slides.
- The slides should a cover slide, with topic, the group # or name and the member names (The name of the person who is absent shouldn't be included).
- The presentation should have an introduction slide overviewing the topic
- The presentation should have a summary slide for conclusion or implications
- The presentation should use examples or evidence to get across your ideas or argument
- Every slide should have a headline
- The sentences should be short and succinct, with clear, bulleted points
- The slides should have consistent background
- The presentation should contain at least 2 graphics
- The presentation should have visible text on your selected background
- 2 different types of effects, transition and/or animation
- You should save the slides as HTML format
- Your should upload them onto one member's web space.

After completing this lab, you will be able to:
- understand how PowerPoint works to present information;
- synthesize information for PowerPoint slides;
- organize information or argumentation logically for the PowerPoint slides;
- use PowerPoint to present your position visually and effectively regarding information policy, ethics and social implications.

Save the PowerPoint file into web pages and upload it to the server.

This lab is worth 0.75 points. Individual work is worth 0.25 and the team work is worth 0.50.
