Assessment

Grading is based on 100 possible points with letter grades being assigned as follows:

A: 100 - 93
A-: 92 - 89
B+: 88 - 86
B: 85 - 83
B-: 82-79
C+: 78 - 76
C: 75 - 70
D: 69 - 60
F: 59 - 0

The following weights are assigned to the different assessed components of the course:

Quizzes

Homework

In-class problems

Mid-term Project 10%
Final Project 25%

The course will follow an active, problem-based approach to learning. Although the course does not include exams, 65% of your grade will be determined by individual work including quizzes, homework, in-class problems, and your participation.

In order to participate meaningfully in class activities, you will need to be prepared.
