Dr. Zihan Zhou in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University is looking for highly motivated students to work on cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning problems. Students admitted in the Ph.D. program will be supported by full graduate scholarships. Master and undergraduate students may also be supported by scholarships depending on the individual cases.

Zhou's research interest lies in the broad area of computer vision, machine learning, signal processing, and applied data sciences. He is particularly focusing on 3D Vision, a fast-growing field with numerous applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, virtual and augmented reality, social media, cross-domain knowledge discovery, and more. Students with research interests in the related areas are encouraged to apply. The successful candidates should have strong programming skills, and preferably also have a strong background in statistics, optimization, or/and mathematics. Relevant research, internship experience in school or research labs is a plus.
