Postdoctoral Scholar, Researcher, Senior Researcher, Research Assistant Professor, and Research Associate Professor Positions

Applications are invited for multiple postdoctoral scholar positions in the Software Systems Security Lab at the Pennsylvania State University. The lab conducts cutting-edge research in the areas of cybersecurity, machine learning, and software systems. We are seeking highly qualified researchers to work on
  1. automatic software analysis, transformation, verification, and security hardening;
  2. security of machine learning systems; and
  3. machine learning for cybersecurity problems.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer and information science or a related field, with strong motivation, ability to conduct research with a proven track record, excellent project management skills and experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively interact with and mentor graduate students. Strong programming skill is required. Experience in cybersecurity, machine learning, software security, program analysis, verification, compiler and programming languages is a plus.

Researchers with more experience are encouraged to apply and may be appointed as researcher, senior researcher, research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. The initial appointment will be one-year, but renewable for multiple years. The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Ph.D. Research Assistantship Openings

The Software Systems Security Research Group (http://faculty.ist.psu.edu/wu/ and http://faculty.ist.psu.edu/wu/) in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at The Pennsylvania State University focuses on cutting-edge research in cybersecurity, machine learning, and software systems. Our research has been supported by National Science Foundation (NSF), Office of Naval Research (ONR), and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). We actively publish in top conferences such as IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, CCS, NDSS PLDI, ICSE, FSE, ASE, ISSTA, and AAAI. Many of our graduates hold faculty positions or conduct post-doctoral research at leading universities including ETH Zurich, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Texas at Arlington, and University of New Hampshire. Others have prestigious positions in the private sector working for high-profile companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Baidu XLab, and IBM Watson Group.
