The first category of in this site is the Serial Killer. While most people would consider someone who kills more than one person a Serial Killer, this is just not true. The main difference between people who kill many people in a row and true Serial Killers is the reason they kill. Whether, it is for a profession such as a Contract Killer, who kills for financial gain or a Serial Killer, who kills mainly to satisfy some inner psychological need. This section portraits three of the most infamous, American Serial Killers.

Ted Bundy

The Killer The Crimes His Fate
Ted Bundy was a handsome, educated, and well mannered man who chose his victims because they resembled a former girlfriend who rejected him. He raped, tortured, and murdered women throughout the western states of Oregon, Utah, and Colorado. Later, while in Florida he raped and murdered several young girls at a Tallahassee sorority house. Authorities believe he may have killed as many as 36 women, but he himself has claimed to kill many more. Met his fate in the Florida electric chair in January 1989 for the murder of 11 year old Kimberly Leach.

Jeffery Dahmer

The Killer The Crimes His Fate
Jeffery Dahmer was a homosexual Serial Killer who, after being discharged from the US Army, preyed upon boys and young men in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He would find young gay men and entice them back to his apartment where he would then render them unconscious with drugs and alcohol. Then, he would sexually assault his victims before killing them. He disposed of the bodies by boiling away the flesh and also by disolving them in vats of powerful acid. He also resorted to cannibalism as a way of preserving the feelings he had for each of his victims. He was tried and found guilty on several counts of murder and later was killed in prison by another inmate.

John Wayne Gacy

The Killer The Crimes His Fate
John Wayne Gacy was a contractor in the Chicago, Illinois area. He was married and many considered him a "nice guy" because he would entertain young children by dressing up in a Pogo the Clown costume. A sadistic killer who enjoyed sodomizing young boys, beating them savagely, and finally strangling them. He disposed of the bodies by burying them under the crawlspace of his house. When he was captured in 1978, detectives found the remains of thirty bodies under his house. While in prison he became an artist and painted pictures of clowns. He was put to death in 1994 by leathal injection.
