FAST MOVING FRONTS

The manuscript REAL LIFE, REAL USERS, AND REAL NEEDS: A STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF USER QUERIES ON THE WEB published in the journal Information Processing and Management in March 2000 was identified in May 2003 by ISI Essential Science Indicators to be one of the most cited papers in the research area of Web Searching Behavior.

The paper was noted in the FAST Moving Fronts. Fast Moving Fronts are those having the largest percentage increase in number of core papers from one period to the next in their respective fields. The rate of increase in citations to the core papers is also used as a criterion. An individual front can increase in size by either internal growth or by merging with one or more other fronts. The May 2003 papers are noted on the ISI Web Site with a list of the May 2003 researchers.
