\cf4 \cb3 I am a Professor in the {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://www.ist.psu.edu/"}}{\fldrslt \cf6 \ul \ulc6 College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) }}at {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://www.psu.edu/"}}{\fldrslt \cf6 \ul \ulc6 the Pennsylvania State Univeristy}}. Sine 2019, I am Professor In Charge for the Cybersecurity area in the College of IST. \cb1 \
\cb3 In July 2006, I received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Milan. My PhD thesis focused on Trust Negotiations, an access control model to enable trust between two unknown entities. I spent most of my time as a graduate student at {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://www.cs.purdue.edu/"}}{\fldrslt \cf6 \ul \ulc6 Purdue University}}. I also spent about six months in Stockholom, at {\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "https://www.sics.se/"}}{\fldrslt \cf6 \ul \ulc6 SICS}}, and six more at Colorado State University, under the guidance of Dr. Indrakshi Ray. \cb1 \
\cb3 From February 2006 to December 2007, I was a post-doctoral fellow at Computer Science Department of Purdue University under the supervision of prof. Elisa Bertino and Sebastien Goasguen. During this time, I worked on Digital Identity Management, and I was involved in the (back then) Teragrid project. \cb1 \
\cb3 My main research interests are in the area of data security and privacy. I currently focus on online privacy threats and privacy challenges that arise in a variety of domains. My earlier work has attempted to address many of these issues through access control mechanisms; in the recent years I have expanded my resarch portfolio to include data science approaches and game theory. My work has been funded by industry and various funding agencies, including grants from the National Science Foundation (and a CAREER Award, 2015), Air Force, and Army Resarch Office. I also received some generous support from Google and Hewlett-Packard Research Labs. I published more than 90 contributions as papers in international conferences and journals, and chapters in international books. I won a couple of best paper awards (in 2011) at ACM Hypertext and (in 2012) at IEEE Passat. From 2012 to 2016, I was the PNC Career Development Professor in the College of IST. \cb1 \

\cb3 On a personal note, I am in fact Italian, born and raised. Above all, I am an avid runner (anything between 1 mile and 26.2!).
